Made in Moldova: what we fitted on an 18 m² stand
Three transforming tables seating nearly 30 people, two workplaces, and beds for three adults and two children. All on 18 square metres.
At the Made in Moldova exhibition we had an 18 m² stand. Our question was simple: how much furniture that actually works can we fit in, and still leave room for visitors to walk in?
The count
- three transforming tables that seat almost 30 people;
- two workplaces;
- beds for three adults and two children.
During the day everything stayed folded against the walls. Whenever someone wanted to see how it worked, we opened the pieces one by one.
The bed with a shelf
The photos show one of the horizontal beds. A narrow shelf runs along its front, and we left a laptop and some books on it. As the bed comes down, the shelf stays level with everything on it, so there is nothing to clear away before bed.
We still use the same idea in TANGO, which has a desk on the front of the bed.
Afterwards
We posted the film from the stand in December 2020. For the March 2023 edition we brought a different set: a CITY 90 with a sofa and a TANGO 120 with a desk, side by side in a 2.7 m wall. You can see it in project no. 2249.
